Leeuwin Art Series Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Varietal Sauvignon Blanc- Semillon
The colour is a very light transparent straw green. With an intensity and depth of flavour typical of Leeuwin Estate- the nose shows a wonderful complex combination of gooseberry- green grass- white currants and green bean with hints of passionfruit and other tropical flavours. The zingy palate is full and luscious with strong flavours of gooseberry- passionfruit and tropical fruits with green grassy edges- a lime finish and a lingering aftertaste. A very pleasant fresh fruity wine that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with seafood.

What the critics think 2006 - "With all the kudos for the chardonnay- this very good sauv blanc can be overlooked. It shouldn't be because it has been a super wine for many years. This is a cracker. All fresh and zesty with a lightly herbaceous character and plenty of lingering fruit."
The West Australian - November 2007 2006 - "Punchy aromas of gooseberries- passionfruit and melon with lightly herbaceous and lemony undertones precede a juicy- unctuous palate whose brightly lit fruit has a lifted tropical aspect. Long- clean and refreshing- it's a classic example of this maker's style."
